Our SuperHeroes

The Unseen Warriors

In a world where strength is often measured in power and speed, our greatest heroes show resilience in ways most cannot see. They fight battles not on grand stages, but in everyday moments—against challenges that most will never face.

Every child affected by the LMBRD2 gene mutation is a true hero. Their daily lives are a battle, an adventure filled with challenges where every small progress is a victory, and every smile is a beacon of light.

They face the invisible, the unknown, with a strength beyond imagination. Behind their eyes lies an unbreakable determination, a resilience that commands admiration. They teach us to see the world differently, to cherish every moment, and to redefine what true courage really means.

History of a SuperHero

Bruno was born on February 24th, 2014, arriving four weeks earlier than expected. As a result, he spent the first weeks of his life in an incubator at the children’s hospital. From an early age, he faced feeding difficulties and developmental delays, progressing at his own unique pace.

Although he has not yet developed active speech, Bruno took his first steps at the age of three—a moment of triumph for him and his family. Recently, he was diagnosed with a mutation in the LMBRD2 gene, shedding light on the challenges he faces.

Since Bruno is non-verbal, he communicates using a talker and gestures to express his needs and interests. His requests often revolve around two of his favorite things: ketchup—because he enjoys it with almost everything—and bulldozers, as he loves watching construction work in action.

Despite the cognitive and motor challenges he faces, Bruno is a bright, open-hearted boy who thrives on connection. He loves spending time with his family and being around others, especially children. For Bruno, family gatherings are pure joy, and in his world, „the more, the merrier!”

Bruno’s resilience, warmth, and infectious happiness make him a true hero—proving that strength is not just about overcoming obstacles, but embracing life with a heart full of love. 💙✨

And we do have many other all over the world.

Our heroes don’t wear capes, but they have wings—the wings of love, hope, and perseverance. Through them, we learn an essential truth: the greatest battles are not fought with weapons but with the heart.

We are proud to stand by them, to share their stories, and to make their voices heard. Because every child here is a symbol of strength, a spark of hope, a hero in their own right.
