History of a SuperHero

Oaklen Johnson s-a născut pe 25 iunie 2023. Este un copil extrem de fericit, mereu zâmbitor și plin de veselie, râzând des și plângând rar. Menține un contact vizual puternic și reacționează pozitiv la interacțiunile sociale. Văzul și auzul său sunt intacte și funcționează bine.

Întârzierile în dezvoltare au fost observate pentru prima dată când Oaklen avea aproximativ 5 luni. După testele genetice, a fost diagnosticat cu tulburarea LMBRD2. În aceeași perioadă, au fost detectate și activități epileptice, iar în prezent este tratat continuu pentru spasme infantile și epilepsie. Oaklen se confruntă cu întârzieri semnificative în dezvoltarea globală. La 19 luni, are un control motor limitat, inclusiv un control slab al capului, și nu poate sta în șezut, să se rostogolească, să stea în picioare sau să comunice verbal. De asemenea, se confruntă cu dificultăți de alimentație. Un test de deglutiție a confirmat că aspiră lichide, cel mai probabil din cauza întârzierii semnalelor cerebrale care afectează reflexul de înghițire. Din acest motiv, este hrănit printr-un tub gastrostomic (G-tube).

În ciuda provocărilor medicale, Oaklen este „băiețelul nostru fericit”. Îți va întoarce zâmbetul într-o clipă și își iubește familia fără ezitare. Nu vei uita prea curând ochii lui albaștri strălucitori și zâmbetul lui molipsitor.
